The Poetic Convergence is a one-day convening of teachers, student leaders, arts champions, and poetic giants for the purpose of creating and sustaining poetic communities inside Los Angeles county schools and their neighborhoods.

This year, we are bringing California Poet Laureate Lee Herrick to Los Angeles for you to study directly with him! Plus train with Spoken Word legend Matthew Cuban, coach of the Da Poetry Lounge’s Slam Team (#2 in the nation) and a host of to-be-announced workshops, speakers, and opportunities for sharing and feedback.

The 2026 Poetic Convergence will be held on October 24 at the Wende Museum in Culver City (10808 Culver Blvd, Culver City, CA 90230) from 9am-4pm on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

This event is focused on teachers and students, with joint sessions in the morning and break-out sessions in the afternoon. Teachers are encouraged to bring students from their classes. The general public may also attend pending availability.
