On Wednesday, November 4, Dr. Yun Kim and Dr. Jacques MoraMarco lead a special Wellness Wednesday built around walking meditation. The two doctors of traditional East Asian medicine wrote Walking Your Way to Vitality, a guide to joining walking, breathwork, and mindfulness in daily exercise.
The morning opens at 9 a.m. in the A-Frame Theater at the Wende Museum with a short sound meditation and an introduction to the Vitality Walk, one of the six walking styles in the book. It draws on the ideas of qi, prana, tai chi, qigong, and yoga. The group then moves to the garden to practice the walk together, followed by Q&A.
Longtime walkers and meditators alike will find new ways to build a daily practice that strengthens the body and calms the mind. The morning continues with a food service at KONSUM, a book signing, and the Soup o Tha Day movement class.
